Toilets a must in all Benguet events

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet: The setting up of restrooms and latrines is a must among organizers and operators of big events in this capital town where people flock and the call of nature could not be set aside.

The local government crafted Ordinance Number 18-2014 called “La Trinidad Portalet Ordinance” requiring organizers and operators of events to install portable restrooms or latrines in designated areas.

Authored by councilors Roderick Awi-nga, Henry Kipas and Estrella Adeban, the measure ensures the safety, convenience and comfort of locals and visitors alike.

It is also a means of regulating business establishments and entertainment areas and helps in the upkeep of health and sanitation in the locality.

Occasionally, big events are hosted by the town such as the Strawberry Festival, the province’s Adivay Festival, and sports and cultural activities.
