Tokyo stocks 1.33% lower by break


TOKYO: Tokyo stocks fell 1.33 percent on Friday morning after the greenback fell sharply on jitters over a US jobs report for May, seen as a key sign of the state of the world’s biggest economy.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 171.43 points to 12,732.59 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares was down 2.22 percent, or 23.81 points, to 1,046.96.
