A suspected drug pusher who topped the watch list of the Pasig City police was killed by joint operatives of the city’s Police Community Precinct 1 and the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force on Thursday morning.
Senior Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, acting District Director of the Eastern Police District, identified the suspect as Felix Manlangit of Barangay Pineda.
Sapitula said the law enforcers served an arrest warrant issued by Judge Danilo Cruz of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 152 against Sapitula at about 4:50 a.m. However, Cruz pulled out a gun and fired at the officers, prompting them to fire back.
Cruz was brought to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Recovered from him were a .38 caliber revolver and 800 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).
Meanwhile, three bodies were found in separate locations in Metro Manila’s eastern area on Thursday morning.
In San Juan City, the bodies of an unidentified man and a woman were found at G. Soriano Street, Barangay Kabayanan and at Soisson Street, Barangay Sta. Lucia. A notebook with a list of names was also found on the woman’s body.
Both bodies were wrapped with packing tape and had the message, “Pusher ako, huwag tularan (I am a pusher, don’t be like me.)” Recovered from each of the two bodies were eight sachets of suspected shabu.
Another body was found in Mandaluyong City at the corner of EDSA Ortigas near POEA at 5:30 a.m.
The victim also had a similar message “Drug pusher ako, huwag tularan.”
Authorities are still conducting an investigation to determine the identities of the victims.
