The Federation of Touch Football Pilipinas (FTFP) will open its new season with Social Mixed Touch Tournament on Saturday at the British School Manila in Taguig.
The competition will serve as a fund raising event for the developmental programs of FTFP in the coming years.
“We want to raise funds for our players, coaches and referees so that they can harness and hone their talents,” FTFP marketing officer Bianca Arco told The Manila Times.
Some of the planned programs for the 2016-2017 season are the Touch 101 Clinic, skills camp, referee accreditation, coaching courses, national team development program as well as training for the 2018 Youth Touch World Cup and the 2019 Touch World Cup.
Arco said that they are targeting six mixed teams to participate in the Social Mixed Touch Tournament.
After the competition, fans will get a chance to meet and greet the teams who will compete in the 2016 Puma Touch League.
The fund raising continues at the Le Café Curieux starting at 7:30 p.m., featuring live bands, body painting and arm wrestling challenge.
