The Department of Tourism (DOT) has recorded a 10.76 percent increase in foreign tourist arrivals in the Philippines from January to September with 3.98-million visitor arrivals compared to 3.59-million acquired in the same period last year.

DOT said that the surge was driven by tourist arrivals in September which recorded significant growth and substantial volume compared to the last four years which ranged from 285,000 to 328,000.
