Toyota Motor Phils. (TMP) recently held its 20th Quality Control Circle (QCC) Championship, a competition aimed at boosting built-in quality in its manufacturing operations. Eight Quality Control (QC) Groups from TMP’s Manufacturing Division presented their projects, with four given gold awards and the opportunity to represent TMP in various QC competitions locally and abroad. The team with the highest point total was the Action Men 2 team (shown here) from the Assembly Section, who will represent TMP in Toyota Motor Corp.’s Global Quality Control Circle Convention in Japan. As for the other three gold awardees, one will be sent to a QC forum in Malaysia while the other two will be sent to a local QC convention. In line with Toyota’s consistent drive for excellence, the annual QCC Championship is a showcase of team members’ relentless efforts to improve efficiency, productivity and cost-competitiveness. This mindset has translated to various local and global awards for both TMP and its team members. Awarding the winning team are (from left) TMP President Michinobu Sugata, First Vice President Lito Aligada, Executive Vice President Kenji Kitamura and Senior Vice President Masaki Otsuka.
