The local arm of the Toyota Group on Tuesday announced a slight decrease on their first-half sales exports but is expected to gain more during the second semester of the year.
Rommel Gutierrez, Toyota Motors Philippines vice president for Corporate Affairs, said that exports from the country to their Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Japan, United States and European counterparts only reached $480 million for January to June 2013, reflecting a slight dip from last year’s $490 million. The decrease in sales, according to Gutierrez, is because of the supply shortage of Vios and Corolla models.
However, the group is eyeing to rebound in the second half with the full change of the two models.
Gutierrez also said that the group is targeting to reach $1 billion in sales by the end of the year.
