Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) sold 8,840 vehicles in March, the highest sales volume achieved in a single month by a vehicles assembler in the country.
Of the total sales volume for the month, 2,290 units were Toyota Vios—its best-selling car model.
Year-to-date sales reached 22, 828 units, a 34 percent jump from 17,061 units during the same period last year.
A large chunk of first-quarter sales or 14,383 units was contributed by commercial vehicles, followed by passenger cars, which totaled 8,340 units.
Sales during the period were also bolstered by TMP’s introduction of the All-New Corolla Altis, the New Innova and the New Wigo. All three new units were launched during the first quarter.
“We are overwhelmed and grateful for the patronage our customers show towards our vehicles most especially towards our CKD models, the Vios and the Innova. This record-breaking sales performance is indeed proof of the trust and loyalty our customers have shown to our brand,” said TMP president Michinobu Sugata.
“I would like to thank the public — for this feat would not be possible without them. Their faith in our brand inspires us to continuously give our best and move forward with even better products and services,” he said.
He said TMP is hoping that the all-new Yaris, launched on March 31, will be welcomed by Filipino customers.
“We introduced the all-new Yaris on March 31, adding more value to our already formidable line-up. Just like our other newly introduced vehicles this year, we look forward to the support the customers will express towards the Yaris,” he said.
