Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) on Friday said that it ended the first 11 months of the year with an impressive increase in unit sales.
Based on a report from TMP, overall unit sales reached 68,611 for the January to November 2013 period versus the 58,890 vehicles delivered for the same period in 2012, reflecting a 17-percent increase.
TMP’s passenger car sales for the first 11 months of this year reached 23,231 units versus the 18,964 units recorded in the same period last year.
The company also breached October 2013’s record-breaking sales of 7,476 units after rolling out 7,458 units last month.
For the month of November, passenger car sales tallied 2,715 units while for the commercial vehicle segment, 4,743 unit sales was recorded.
The strength in Toyota’s sales surge was lead by the all-new Toyota Vios, which is now the best-selling vehicle in the country. The new Vios in November recorded sales of 2,329 units.
With the latest sales figures, TMP is poised to achieve its 12th consecutive Triple Crown.
In a statement, TMP President Michinobu Sugata expressed confidence that the current year will be ended with “an even stronger sales position with the expected favorable market demand this holiday season.”
“I would also like to thank our customers for the trust and loyalty they have shown in our products. Their confidence in our brand inspires us to keep moving forward and conti-nuously find ways to serve them better,” he added.
