Now with all-new VVT-I engines
Toyota Motors Philippines Corporation has upgraded two of its most popular models, the Vios sedan and the Yaris hatchback. The new models were unveiled during the car manufacturer’s mid-year thanksgiving party held at the Salvatore Cuomo, Bonificio Global City in Taguig.
Both cars are now equipped with Toyota’s all-new dual VVT-I engines that provide more power as well as the new continuously variable transmission (CVT) that makes the drive more efficient.
But even with the higher power output, the new NR series engine is more fuel efficient that provides better gas mileage and gives less harmful emissions as well.
Furthermore, with the new CVT variants the new Vios and new Yaris now have a seven-speed-like sequential shift mode compared to the four-speed gearbox of the previous models.
Aside from the new engine for the Yaris, customers can expect a new sportier look to its interior seat fabric and a new dark silver face display for the audio head unit. This aesthetic change gives it a much more style-oriented feel proving that with the Toyota Yaris “A Little Style Goes a Long Way.”
Similarly, the new Vios now comes with new chrome trims for fog lamps (G variant) that add to its exterior aesthetic. As for the colors of the new models, the new Vios comes in two new additional shades, alumina jade metallic and blackish red mica, while the new Yaris retains its standard color line-up.

For the new Yaris, prices are: 1.5 G AT, P883,000; 1.3 E AT, P793,000; and 1.3 E MT, P743,000.
