National team members Narcisa Atienza, Rosie Villarito and Katherine Santos notched wins in the first day of athletics competition of the 2014 Philippine Sports Commission-Philippine Olympic Committee (PSC-POC) National Games at the Philsports Complex in Pasig City.
Atienza ruled the women’s high jump with 1.70-meter. Joean Bermundo of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) finished second with 1.6-m and Charrie Catahan of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company third with 1.50-m.
Villarito, on the other hand, representing Bacolod City posted
48.55-m to rule the women’s javelin throw. Evalyn Palabrica of PAF finished second with 39.66-m and Jenelyn Arlen of University of the Philippines third with 38.11-m.
In the women’s long jump, Santos of Baguio City posted 5.87-m to win the gold. Felyn Dolloso of De La Salle-Dasmariñas finished second with 5.39-m and Jannah Nurul of Swift Athletics Association third with 5.33-m.
