• Trade resumes Monday


    The Philippine Stock Exchange said trading will resume on Monday, December 29.

    There will be no trading December 24 to 26, December 30 to 31 and January 1 to 2 inasmuch as bank clearing and settlement operations are closed on those days.

    PSE President and chief Executive Officer Hans Sicat said “we understand that prolonged breaks can be disruptive to the financial system especially in the context of globalizing environments and we have thus asked the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to take into account in subsequent similar occasions opening clearing operations to minimize such disruptions,” he added.

    On Tuesday, the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) went up by 0.66 percent or 47.05 points to 7,186.32, while the wider All Shares index advanced 0.55 percent or 23.19 points to 4,235.52.
