• Trans-Asia inks power supply deal with Manila Water


    Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp has signed a contract to supply the electricity of the pumping stations of Manila Water Co. Inc, Tans-Asia said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange.

    It said the contract, which was signed on April 30, would take effect on June 26 this year for a two-year period to supply electricity to the Balara Pumping Station, San Juan Pumping Station, Kingsville Pumping Station, Sioruna Pumping Station, and For Bonifacio Pumping Station.

    “We source our supply from various plants and we aggregate them to meet customer demands,” said Trans-Asia.

    Trans-Asia Oil, a respected player in oil and gas exploration, is now a fully diversified enterprise engaged in power generation through Trans-Asia Power Generation Corporation.

    TransAsia has a portfolio of close to 250 megawatts (MW) of power generation from diesel plants across the country. TransAsia is poised to double its power capacity to 400 MW in the next few years.

    Apart from the Calaca coal plant, TransAsia is also constructing a 20-MW geothermal project in Sto. Tomas, Batangas with the Yuchengco Group.

    It has put up a 54-MW San Lorenzo wind farm in Guimaras Island in Iloilo province with the Philippine National Oil Co. RITCHIE A. HORARIO
