SECURITY screening equipment (SSE) purchased for the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) "were not fully utilized" because some were "defective and unserviceable," according to an audit report for 2017.
"Based on the confirmation replies and inspection conducted which relate to 396 of the 434 items covered by the confirmation letters/inspection, 369 SSE were found operational, while 24 were defective/unserviceable and three (3) were not being used," the Commission on Audit (COA) said.
