Tribu Panayanon of Iloilo to perform in Hong Kong


iloilo’s award-winning of street dancers are among the international groups invited to perform for chinese new year

ILOILO’S Tribu Panayanon joins the Chinese New Year Parade in Hong Kong. Hailed as the grand slam champion in the 2015 Dinagyang Festival, the Tribu Panayanon will showcase their diverse cultural heritage and powerful drumbeats at Hong Kong’s highly anticipated Chinese New Year Parade on February 8 in Tsim Sha Tsui with the theme “Playground of the World, Party of the Year.”

Organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), and a favorite among locals and visitors, the Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade takes over the city streets on the first day of the Chinese New Year at 6 p.m. Tribu Panayanon is among the 30 performing groups including 11 international performing groups participating from France, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Russia, Spain and the USA will also join in the celebratory kick off for the year of the monkey.

Besides the wonderful performances filled with exuberant dance routines and vibrant costumes, magical illuminated floats, and, the Year of the Monkey mascot, there will also be roving performances and programs such as characters from Hello Kitty, Star Wars Storm Troopers and even a three-storey inflatable Snoopy welcoming attendees to the Chinese New Year party.
