Trillanes gives P18M to PDEA

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) expressed appreciation for the financial assistance extended by Sen. Antonio Trillanes 4th for the construction, repair and rehabilitation of multi-purpose buildings in the agency’s regional offices.

In a letter to Trillanes dated February 10, 2015, PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr. thanked the lawmaker for his P18 million grant under Republic Act 10651, otherwise known as the General Appropriations Act of 2015.

“Rest assured that PDEA will forever treasure such generosity as we continuously fulfill our mission as the lead agency in the national anti-drug campaign,” Cacdac said.

The P18 million budget is solely devoted for the rehabilitation of PDEA regional offices in San Fernando, La Union; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; San Fernando City, Pampanga; Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro; Legazpi City, Albay; Lahug, Cebu City; Cagayan de Oro City; La Trinidad, Benguet; and Libertad, Butuan City. Each regional office got P2 million from Trillanes.

Cacdac said that PDEA’s Bids and Awards Committee will conduct the bidding process for the projects in accordance with government procurement rules and regulations.

“We are fortunate that we have a legislator like Senator Trillanes who is very supportive in the war against illegal drugs. The new structures and improvements in our regional offices will truly boost the morale of our personnel,” the PDEA chief said.
