SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga: Strong winds spawned by tropical storm Kabayan on Friday toppled electric posts and uprooted some trees in Aurora causing power interruption in the entire province.
”The province-wide power outage was caused by the toppling of electric posts and uprooting of big trees, particularly in the area of San Luis town and in parts of Central Aurora,” Engineer Elson Egargue, head of the Aurora Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), said.
Egargue, however, said that there is now an ongoing clearing operations being conducted by the Philippine Army and other concerned agencies for the immediate restoration of power supply in the province.
He also said that there were no reported casualties in the province.
”As of now, the situation in the province is normal. There is no more rain but still have cloudy skies,” he said.
Meanwhile, classes in primary up to secondary levels, both in public and private, in the province were suspended. PNA
