Except in extreme Northern Luzon, most parts of the country will continue to be sunny to partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms, the state weather forecaster said on Wednesday.
In an interview, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) senior weather forecaster Rene Paciente said that the Trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA)is affecting extreme Northern Luzon.
Paciente said a LPA is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
He said the LPA is located south of Japan, moving north west and is not expected to enter the country.
Due to trough or extended cloudiness of LPA, the regions of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and Cordillera and the Province of Aurora. will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms, he said.
Although fair weather is expected in most parts of the country including Metro Manila, Paciente advised the public to still bring umbrellas and raingears due to the presence of localized thunderstorms.
He said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
In its advisory, PAGASA said light to moderate winds coming from the south to southwest will prevail over Luzon and from the south over Visayas and Mindanao.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. PNA
