The trough of a low pressure area continues to bring light to moderate rains over Mindanao while the northeast monsoon will induce light rains over northern Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday.
In its Friday forecast, PAGASA said that Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas and Caraga will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
It added that Metro Manila and the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Due to the northeast monsoon, temperatures will remain low in the coming weeks.
In Metro Manila, Friday’s temperature will range 20-32 degrees Celsius while Baguio City will have 12-24 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.
PAGASA also said that strong to gale-force winds associated with the surge of the northeast monsoon would affect eastern seaboards of Visayas.
“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” it said. PNA
