‘E! News Asia Special’ to air ‘no-holds-barred’ feature on the mysterious actor
Over the years, Piolo Pascual’s star power has become a force to reckon with in the showbiz industry. But despite his unwavering and ever-growing popularity, the sensational actor has still managed to maintain an elusive and mysterious persona.
But in September, Piolo will finally share a “part of himself” to the Filipino public and the rest of the world through a feature in E! News Asia Special.
Following 2014’s first special on Anne Curtis, Piolo is only the second Filipino celebrity to be featured on the show. The Piolo Pascual special was shot through five days of the actor’s busy life compressed in a 30-minute special.
On Friday, Universal Networks International, the entertainment provider of E! Entertainment Television, together with Piolo officially premiered the trailer of the TV feature at The Loft @ Manansala in Rockwell, Makati City.
“A household name in the Philippines, Piolo’s personality, gravitas and compelling life story are a perfect fit for E!,” announced Christine Fellowes, managing director for Asia Pacific of Universal Networks.
Sharing his experience Piolo related, “They [E! team] were able to dig dipper into my life. They followed me from my condo, to my gym, to my training place, to my concert. [It became] more of like a behind-the-scenes kind of thing.”
He added that the special is “less glamorous because of the interviews, which were more candid and spontaneous.” Thus, Piolo effectively promised that the show will present a “no-holds-barred” documentary as it will reveal truths about the rumors and myths surrounding him.
“I just gave a piece of me, shared a part of me, however they [the viewers may]take it. It’s a privilege to be doing so. I consider it a milestone—10, 20 years from now, I can say I was interviewed by E!,” Piolo enthused.
Piolo’s private persona will prominently figure in the special particularly as father to his son Iñigo. Asked by The Manila Times what viewers could expect in this facet of his life, Piolo talked about bonding moments between the two of them.
Now 17 years old, Iñigo has his share of the limelight. Just in July, he was signed on to join his father as co-ambassador of insurance company, Sun Life.
The 37-year-old actor also shared how he is able to apply his real-life role dad to his current onscreen character, Gin, in ABS-CBN’s primetime series, Hawak Kamay.
Besides his family, others celebrities were also featured in the special to provide further insight on the celebrity like Toni Gonzaga, who starred with Piolo in Starting Over Again, and Iza Calzado, who is also part of Hawak Kamay.
Piolo joins other regional entertainment powerhouses like Lisa Surihani from Malaysia, Jay Park from South Korea, and Aaron Aziz from Singapore as a subject of E! News Asia Special.
