Tutors, Unions Seek TRO VS K12 Program

BAGUIO CITY: Employee unions in private schools, individuals and supporters are asking the Supreme Court to stop the implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program. Ronald Taggaoa, a professor at the Saint Louis University and secretary general of the Union of Faculty and Employees of Saint Louis University said, thousands of teachers and non-teaching employees stand to lose their jobs by 2016 with the implementation of K to 12. In their petition filed before the High Tribunal on March 12, Taggaoa said they are seeking at least a three-year suspension of K to 12 to thresh out issues raised by the union.
