Lovely couple Atty. Rene and Ann Puno gathered close friends in an intimate get together to celebrate the birthday of a dear friend, Dr. George Sarakinis, at their cozy Alabang home.
The pair’s daughter, Renee Ann, joined in welcoming guests to a night of pleasant conversation—no singing and dancing, therefore no partying.
At the center of this very interesting tete tete was the special guest, congresswoman and former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos who arrived earlier before everyone. Some guests who have not been with her up close had this rare opportunity to ask her questions, some of them very personal.
As for the food, Ann’s homecooking from her own kitchen was exceptional. Different kinds of salads, bacalao, chicken pastel but the most popular was her cochinillo, crispy as ever direct from the oven. Finally there were her to-die-for and specialty desserts.
Guests who enjoyed the sumptuous food included celebrity designer Ito Curata, Bob Miller, Bergamo’s Mel Meer; Century Properties’ Joey Antonio who took time out from his busy schedule entertaining Paris Hilton who arrived for the launching of the Paris Beach Club in the Azure; visiting jetsetter Minda Lonsdale.
Enjoying the bubbly were Manoling Poblador, George Sison and The celebrant. Busy asking questions from Madame Imelda were Sandie Poblador and Mayenne Carmona. I am sure they got a lot of juicy stories. It was truly a memorable evening for Dr. Sarakinis.
A few weeks earlier, a totally different party was given for George. It was Gov. Chavit Singson’s turn to host a cocktail dinner cruise for his godson on his yacht Escalera.
A variety of seafood, the freshest catch of the day, were laid out in a lavish buffet table together with a shawarma machine brought by Atty. Manette Agbayani, two big lechons from Dutch businessman Willem Suijdam with lady love Exotic beauty Gina Ronquillo, and Vigan empanadas from beauty and anti-aging proponent Camille Agbayani.
The celebrant brought his own concoction of Caviar cake and pate which were the early favorites sampled by early birds Anna Sia, Carla Sibal, Halden Agbayani, Fe Dixon, Emma Nieto, Dr. Joni Dizon.
Dinner started while cruising along Manila Bay and guests like Joel Cruz, Remar de Leon, Francis Sanchez, Joy Fong feasted on the crabs and prawns.
The highlight of the evening was the fun impromptu program with total performers Arthur Manuntag whose charming wife Kathy obliged a duet with him. Geena Zablan and Fe Dixon brought the house down with their sexy dance numbers while Ricky Davao and celebrant Dr. Sarakinis were singing.
It was such a hilarious scene everybody could not stop laughing. It was really a fun party and they were still talking about it days after.
To Dr. Sarakinis more birthday always celebrated in a jovial mood.
