CAUAYAN CITY: Three provinces will be affected by a two-hour early dawn brownout on Thursday as the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has accommodated the black start service test of SN Aboitiz Magat Hydro Electric Power Plant in Ramon town in Isabela.
Lilibeth Gaydowen, NGCP-Northern Luzon corporate communications and public affairs officer, said the brownout will shut down power supply from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Thursday in the provinces of Isabela, Cagayan and Kalinga.
She added that Cagayan and Kalinga will have total province-wide brownouts while Isabela will have its brownout at Reina Mercedes substation.
The black start test will validate the capability of the hydropower plant to start from complete shutdown without the assistance from external power source coming from the grid, Gaydowen added. PNA
