• Two injured in Zamboanga road accident


    ZAMBOANGA CITY: A motorcycle driver was seriously injured after hitting a female pedestrian on Tuesday night here.

    Nilda Llanera of Baliwasan village was crossing the street outside the Santa Cruz Market when the accident happened.

    “I don’t know what happened. My face is numb and my whole body is aching,” Llenera told The Manila Times after regaining consciousness.

    The motorcycle driver, who remains unidentified because he is not carrying any identification card, and the woman were rushed to the hospital.

    Witnesses said the driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was driving fast when he hit the woman.

    “He was driving fast and did not even slow down,” one motorist who witnessed the accident, said.

    Local police chief Angelito Casimiro was spotted in the area manning the traffic with other police officers.
