ZAMBOANGA CITY: Security forces rescued two abducted women and arrested their two captors in Iligan City in the southern Philippines, army officials said Saturday.
Captain Jefferson Somera, a spokesman for the 1st Infantry Division, said the hostages—Kathlyn Jane Dapol and Jingle Bation Rebosora—were reunited with their families following Friday’s rescue at a roadblock put up by authorities along the highway in Iligan City.
Abductors Mark Rebosora, 28, and Rogelio Bation, 60, were handed over to the police. He said the abduction stemmed from a family feud.
Somera said the two men snatched the women while they were walking near an army base and dragged the duo to a waiting car.
