Two Marines wounded in Palawan village ambush



Two Marines were wounded after their truck was ambushed by suspected communist rebels early Monday in a village in Palawan.

Reports reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame identified the Marines as 1Lt. Rodelito Ramos and Private First Class Marvin Montebon, both from Marine Battalion Landing Team 4.

The Marines were on their way to Puerto Princesa City when their truck was hit by a loud explosion and gunfire from a hill overlooking the road in Sitio Ebangley, Barangay Abongan, Taytay town.

The Marines repulsed the attack, and the two wounded Marines were brought to the Roxas Medical Center in Puerto Princesa. Anthony Vargas
