Two moderate earthquakes hit parts of Luzon and Mindanao  early morning Monday,  the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported yesterday.

The first quake with magnitude 3.0 on the Richter scale occurred at 3:06 a.m. with its epicenter traced some 17 kilometers northeast of Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro, at a depth of 53 km.
