Two Romanians arrested in Cebu


THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) announced the arrest of two Romanians during a police operation in Mandaue City in Cebu over the weekend, CIDG Director Chief Supt. Victor Deina identified the foreigners as Petro Ioan Uveges, 43 and Stefania Mihaela Osman, 36 years old. Deona said both suspects were known members of the “Romania Cyber Crime Syndicate” operating in Cebu whose modus is withdrawing money at any bank ATM with British export Cards to divest and defraud their victims who owns international bank accounts. The two Romanians are now facing charges of case for violation of RA 8484 or the Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998 and are temporary detained at the CIDG Office in Cebu.
