TWO SOLDIERS HURT IN REBEL CLASH

GEN. NAKAR, Quezon: Two soldiers were wounded in a clash with the New People’s Army (NPA) early Saturday morning at Sitio Malatunglansan Barangay Marcelino in this town. Security forces led by Police Senior Insp. Reden Romasanta identified the wounded as Private First Class Domericar Gepitulan and Jose Aquino from Alpha Company of the 1st Infantry Batallion. Reports said soldiers were on a routine patrol when they encountered 20 rebels. Quezon Police Director Senior Supt. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan ordered his troops to be more vigilant following the attack of Algeria police station in Surigao Del Norte on July 10 where two policemen were wounded. BELLY M. OTORDOZ
