TWO alleged ranking members of the communist rebel movement were arrested by government security forces Friday afternoon in a suburban village in Marikina City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported Saturday.

Initial reports from the PNP national operations center in Camp Crame identified the arrested rebels as Paolo Socrates Versoza and Grace Abartique Mendoza, members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) and National Democratic Front (NDF).
