TxR to serve as qualifier for OCR World Championship

The Tough X Rough (TxR), the first international Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) will serve as a qualifying tilt for the OCR World Championship slated on October 15 to 16 at the Blue Mountain Resort in Ontario, Canada.

Sports TV 5 hosted the Philippine qualifying series recently at the Greenfield Central Park in Mandaluyong City, where hundreds of participants from various fitness gyms in Metro Manila as well as celebrities like actor Derek Ramsey competed.

David Voth, the man behind Tough and Rough Asia, said that the Tough X

Rough is patterned after military-type commando training. It includes three short courses, four long courses, four boot camps and one national championship.

The overall male and female winners and the top male and female teams will be sent to compete in Canada.

OCR requires competitors to conquer various physical challenges in their path like climbing walls, lifting heavy objects, traversing bodies of water, crawling under barbed wires and jumping through blazing hoops.
