TYPHOON “Maria” entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday morning and was renamed “Gardo”, the state-run weather bureau said.
As of 7 a.m., Gardo was 1,350 kilometers (km) east of Basco, Batanes, packing strong winds of 200 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 245 kph, as it moved west-northwest at 30 kph.
