MANILA: Typhoon “Huaning” has weakened but maintained its speed and direction as it moves towards the Taiwan-Batanes area, the state weather forecaster said on Friday.

In an interview, PAGASA weather forecaster Alvin Pura said the typhoon’s wind strength has decreased from 185 kilometers per hour (kph) Thursday afternoon to 165 kph Friday morning, while its gustiness from 220 kph to 200 kph.
