CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro: The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that all provinces in MIMAROPA (Mindoro Occidental, Mindoro Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) will be affected by typhoon “Ruby” after its projected landfall in Samar early Sunday.
PAGASA Administrator Vicente Malano particularly identified the provinces of Romblon, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro as the areas which will experience heavy rains and possible flooding, storm surges and landslides.
He made this assessment in a briefing Friday of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) in Quezon City.
The DOST official also advised fishermen in these areas not to venture out to the seas as the typhoon is expected to bring rough sea conditions. PNA
