UAAP: Red Warriors hold off Fighting Maroons

University of the East (UE) survived a hard-fighting University of the Philippines (UP), 62-57, on Saturday to post its fourth win in UAAP men’s basketball at the Araneta Coliseum.

Hulking 6’8 center Charles Mammie dominated the shaded lane with 22 rebounds – 12 in the offensive end – and 17 points, while starting point guard Roi Sumang added 10 points along with nine rebounds and five assists for the Red Warriors.

UE improved to 4-3 win-loss record while winless UP remains winless in seven games.
