UAAP SOFTBALL: Adamson remains unbeaten for last three years

Adamson University has kept its unbeaten slate in UAAP women’s softball for the past three seasons.

The Lady Falcons are undefeated in 37 games – the longest streak in any sport in the league—since February 13, 2010, when they were stunned by University of Santo Tomas, 3-8.

Although Season 75 Most Valuable Player Michelle Lentija is no longer around, Adamson  Luzviminda Embudo and Rizza Bernardino opened up their season with a 10-0 shutout of UST in four innings, followed by a 7-0 demolition of University of the East and a 12-1 rout of De La Salle.

Adamson (3-0) and National University (3-0) will clash on January 4 at the Rizal Memorial ballpark. Ateneo goes up against UP at 9 a.m. and De La Salle against UST at 11 a.m.

The Lady Bulldogs got their victories over De La Salle University (9-3), University of the Philippines (8-5) and Ateneo (12-2).

UP (2-1) is running third this season, followed by De La Salle (1-3) and UE (1-3). Ateneo (0-4) yielded three come-from-behind losses to be at the bottom of the field.

Adamson University won last year’s crown through a 2-0 sweep of NU in the race-to-two finals—6-2 in Game One and 4-1 in Game Two.
