Far Eastern University carved out a double overtime win over University of the East (UE), 98-94, on Sunday to keep the top spot in UAAP men’s basketball at the Araneta Coliseum.
Guard Terrence Romeo, who piled up a career-high 30 points, scored a three-pointer and a basket in the second overtime to give the Tamaraws an 8-2 win-loss slate.
Gryann Mendoza added 15 points and Mike Tolomia sank a triple in the last 3.5 seconds of the first overtime to tie the count at 85-all.Tolomia had 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
The Red Warriors ended their four-game winning streak to fall to 5-4 and tie the Ateneo de Manila University in fourth place.
Shej Roi Sumang scored 25 points and seven rebounds with five assists, while Ralf Olivarez had 21 for the Red Warriors.
