Jeron Teng hit the game-winning shot with 1.9 seconds remaining to give De La Salle University a cliffhanger 66-64 win over archrival Ateneo de Manila University Sunday night in UAAP men’s basketball at the Araneta Coliseum.
After Kiefer Ravena’s tied the game with 14.9 seconds left, the Green Archers called for an isolation play for Teng who evaded Chris Newsome’s defense to take the money shot that sent them to solo third place with 7-4 win-loss slate.
Almond Vosotros led La Salle with 19 points, including nine points in the fourth period, while Jason Perkins had 13 points and 15 rebounds.
The reigning champion Blue Eagles dropped to 6-5 win-loss record for fifth place.
