University of the East (UE) center Charles Mammie will be suspended for one game while two other players were given warnings by the UAAP management committee.
UAAP commissioner Chito Loyzaga said Mammie was “seen confronting, pushing and kicking Adamson University player Roider Cabrera from behind with the intention to hurt” during the UE-Adamson game last Wednesday.
Mammie won’t be playing when the Red Warriors face the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
“Even as the game is over, you are expected to maintain proper conduct and good behavior in the playing court at all times. Since you have received a warning of this similar nature, you [Mammie] are therefore suspended for one official game effective immediately,” Loyzaga said.
Mammie received a warning on July 8 for hitting National University (NU) player Emmanuel Mbe in the groin with his knee.
Cabrera was given a warning for committing an “unsportsmanlike” foul against UE Lord Casajeros during their game on July 10. NU’s Jeff Javillonar also got a warning for pushing UST’s Jeric Teng on the same play date.
