University of the East (UE) head coach Boycie Zamar is asking the UAAP management committee to lift the suspension on Red Warriors center Charles Mammie.
In a letter addressed to UAAP President Rev. Fr. Maximino Rendon C.M., Zamar pointed out two reasons.
“I have not received any written first warning for Charles Mammie’s offense in game against National University last July 6, 2013.
“Mr. Charles Mammie’s second infraction which will suspend him for our game tomorrow [July 13] versus University of Santo Tomas was only relayed to me through the telephone conversation with [two reporters],” Zamar said.
The UAAP is expected to decide on UE’s appeal on Friday or early Saturday.
Mammie was suspended by UAAP commissioner Chito Loyzaga for one game as he was “seen confronting, pushing and kicking Adamson University player Roider Cabrera from behind with the intention to hurt” during the UE-Adamson game last Wednesday.
Mammie also received a warning on July 8 for slamming a knee to the groin of National University player Emmanuel Mbe.
