The bout between former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) world lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and World Extreme Cagefighting 19 champion Urijah Faber will be the main event of the UFC Fight Night Philippine edition on May 16 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
According to the UFC official website, the 33-year-old Edgar has an 18-4-1 win-loss-draw record while the 35-year-old Faber, also known as “The California Kid,” has 32-7 record with 19 of his wins by submission. The two will clash in a five-round non-title featherweight bout.
Edgar is coming off three consecutive wins while Faber just posted back-to-back victories.
Philippine bet Roldan “The Executioner” Sangcha-an (4-1 record) will face Jon Delos Reyes of Guam (7-4) in a flyweight bout while his compatriot Mark Eddiva’s opponent is yet to be announced.
The other featured bouts are the following: Tae Hyun Bang vs Jon Tuck, Zhang Lipeng vs Kajan Johnson, Yao Zhikui vs Nolan Ticman and Li Jingliang vs Roger Zapata.
Popular UFC ring girl Arianny Celeste also confirmed that she would be part of the UFC Fight Night Philippine edition that will be aired live by FOX Sports 1.
