UFL postpones games ahead of SEA Games, WC qualifiers

After wrapping the group stages of this year’s edition of the United Football League (UFL) Cup 2015, the premier football league of the country is slated to resume on July to give way for the Southeast Asian Games and the FIFA World Cup qualifiers this June.

The UFL will be put on hold until the second week of July as most players from the clubs are part of the Philippine delegation that will be playing in the two competitions.

Meanwhile, regular league games are scheduled to continue during the weekend after the FIFA International match window on June 20.

Consequently, match-ups for the round of 16 have been released ahead of the games.

Unbeaten first division clubs Kaya FC, Ceres La Salle FC and Global FC will face Bright Star FC, Mendiola FC 1991 and Team Socceroo FC, respectively.

Also, Green Archers United FC will go up against JP Voltes FC, Loyola Meralco Sparks FC will meet Laos FC, and Forza FC will battle Stallion FC.

The teams that will battle in the second stage of the eliminations in the annual cup are Pasargad FC versus Manila Jeepney FC, and Pachanga Diliman FC versus Agila MSA FC.
