UMak grad 5th in CPA board exam

A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Makati (UMak) placed 5th in the May 2015 Certified Public Accountants (CPA) board exam with a rating of 89.43 per cent.

Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay hailed Kristofferson Isar Dela Cruz, one of 25 fresh graduates who took the licensure test. Thirteen of de la Cruz’s schoolmates also passed.

“Congratulations to Mr. Dela Cruz for putting UMak’s name up there among the nation’s best universities in producing excellent professionals. You and the rest of the 13 successful CPA board passers have given the City of Makati and its people great pride and honor,” Binay said.

The mayor noted that a 56 percent passing rate for the university in the said licensure exam was “impressive” compared to the national average passing rate of 34 percent.
