The UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said the figure of 4,460 was given from the regional taskforce of the Philippines’ National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Wednesday.

But NDRMMC’s spokesman Reynaldo Balido insisted the official toll remained at 2,360.

  1. Primer Pagunuran on

    Damaged psyche.

Why do they downplay what are factual findings by their own regional personnel?

Is not the UN reliable enough? Pray tell.

  2. “The official toll figure remained at 2,360.”

So does that mean no additional bodies were found since the time it was pegged at 2,360?

Why, because PNoy already told CNN that “it’s around 2,500”? The official figure cannot be far from that? His subordinates are hesitant to contract their leader?

    Propaganda at work.
