SARIAYA, Quezon: Residents of this town literally had goosebumps when the United Nations singers sang “Tanging Yaman” in a distinct and powerful blending of voices composed of outstanding singers from Venezuela, Germany, Dominican Republic, Russian and other nationality, including three Filipinos, in a performance in at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church on Tuesday. Twenty-four members of the renowned choir filled the rafters of the church with their acapella’ rendition of songs from around the world such as “To Ne Veter Klonit” (Russia), “Sednalo e Djore Dos” (Bulgaria). “Ave Maria” (España), “Adios Nonino” (Argentina), “Iha Mian Agapi” (Greece} and three songs from the Philippines—Rosas Pandan, Minamahal Kita and Tanging Yaman. The performance is a sidelight of the charity performance of the group for the benefit of Super Typhoon Yolanda victims.
