• UNA leader slams ‘heartless President’

A LEADER of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) on Friday urged the people to unite and “rise up” to seek justice for the 44 fallen troops of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) and show President Benigno Aquino 3rd who are the “real bosses.”

Former Zambales Rep. Maria Milagros Magsaysay also slammed Aquino for showing “what a heartless, cold and unfeeling President he really is.”

Magsaysay scored Aquino for snubbing arrival honors for the slain SAF officers on Thursday, while attending the inauguration of the Mitsubishi Motors plant in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.

“It’s really disgusting that a week after Pope Francis left us with his message of mercy and compassion, he [thePresident] has shown no mercy or compassion toward the people he irresponsibly sent to their deaths. The whole country is so affected by what happened yet he chooses to go to a car plant inauguration instead with the excuse that it was in his schedule,” she said.

Magsaysay recalled what US President Barack Obama did in 2011 when he canceled a visit to Interstate Moving Services in Springfield, Virginia, to talk about fuel efficiency standards for work trucks, buses and other heavy-duty vehicles.

Obama instead went to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to honor the 22 Navy SEALs and eight other American troops killed in Afghanistan.

Magsaysay is wondering how Aquino has forgotten in a very short time the virtue and compassion shown by Pope Francis when he took time to meet the father of Kristel Padasas, a 27-year-old volunteer who died in Tacloban City, Leyte.

“Despite his busy schedule, Pope Francis took time to meet with Mr. Paulino Padasas,” she noted.

Magsaysay said so many rules were broken by the botched plan orchestrated by suspended PNP chief Alan Purisima with the full knowledge of Aquino.

“How can someone who is serving his suspension manage to give orders to PNP personnel unless he has the green light from the highest leader? What kind of Chief Executive do we have who bypassed the legitimate chain of command who should have been [PNP Deputy Director General Leonardo] Espina?” she asked.

The UNA official said if Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas 2nd was kept in the dark in the SAF operation intended to arrest Malaysian Zulkifli Bin Hir alias Marwan, it only shows what kind of leader Aquino is who does not even trust his own appointee (Roxas).

“When netizens poured out and manifested their disgust on social media , they get threatened by the Liberal Party spokesman with libel. Excuse me! How dense!” Magsaysay exclaimed.

“If the ‘yellow army’ think that the people will forever be passive and just take their arrogance, there’s a tipping point! Wake up people! It’s about time we show our leader who the real bosses are. We owe it to the fallen SAF men to seek justice for their death. It’s only when justice is served that these heroes’ deaths were not in vain,” she said.

On Thursday and Friday, netizens flooded Twitter and Facebook with snide comments and remarks castigating Aquino for his absence at the arrival honors for the slain SAF commandos at Villamor Air Base.

The hashtag #NasaanAngPangulo where netizens expressed their anger reportedly became the hottest trending online discussions not only in the Philippines but also worldwide.

    1. anti_una_binay on

Wow, did’nt you know that Pnoy spent 12 hours listening to the relatives of the fallen? All you are trying to do is lipservice. For what, such trapo and your allout support to GMA. Tell me if there is any goodwill from people like you. Why don’t you scold Binay for going there where he was’nt welcome? UNA and the people behind it sucks.

    2. remember, Pnoy was elected because of the emotions on Cory”s death, so you should have learned ur lessons by now, come election time, use ur brains, elect someone not for their interest and yours, but for the interest of your SOVEREIGN nation, note the caps, with the BBL, u are giving away ur sovereignty!

    3. Let us be calm. Pnoy was a big fault of all this, but if we kick him out of office, a big time people’s money hungry robber takes over. Think of who can be behind all this

    4. there is no stopping, people are so angry and so i hope that the previous leadership will not be used this time as neutralizer to justify this new kapalpakan which resulted to the death of our dear brother soldiers. may their soul rest in peace.

    5. I don’t think the President is heartless. He just happens to know how to carry himself it times of grief since he personally knows long grief. Let us not use this tragic event to gauge the sincerity and sensitivity (or the opposite) of our leaders. Let us mourn for a while otherwise our actions will be governed by anger and revenge. When the lessons of this sad experience has sank in all of us, then it will be time to act for the leaders and time for us citizens to see who has the most genuine intention towards the good of all concerned.

    6. i said it here before. pnoy makes a better fool of himself while overseas than when he is at home in the philippines. i guess i have to correct myself. pnoy makes himself a much better fool now at home than he does overseas. the man is totally arrogant, vindictive and much worse, heartless. how can he even smile from ear to ear back in laguna when there were grieving families lined up at villamor air base waiting for the bodies of their loved ones. if i were the familes of the slain SAF commandos, we could have just told the incompetent president not to bother paying them his last respects. because if there was on the part of pnoy, none of those gallant men would be dead. my only prayer is this. that whoever do the investigations on this matter, that they have the biggest balls to convict the guilty. regardless of who he is.

    7. Yes you are correct Ms. Magsaysay. But if ever Aquino meets his downfall, I believe that a military junta or a committee of religious people shall be a tentative government be established before an election be done. Principled and un-corrupt people should govern the Philippines by that time. Don’t vote for the Binays and UNAs.

    8. I am in agreement with former Cong. Mitos Magsaysay. It’s really time for the people to RISE UP and dislodge this Abnoy from an office he is illegitimately occupying. He is the CURSE of the nation.Disasters after disasters will infest us and more deaths will ensue unless we are freed from the clutches of this uncaring despot. .

    9. I think that’s what it’s called, “Noynoy-ing”! Donkir, dongkir. (Don’t care, don’t care).

    10. This idiot President does not know how to empathize with the people. He so stone-hearted as hard as his face. The military and police needs to act and withdraw their support. If I am Roxas, I will quit for being kept in the dark. I don’t know what kind of mettle he is made of. Imagine, a suspend PNP Chief who has no authority and accountability is calling the shot? What a SHAME.

    11. I accessed my Twitter account again to lend a voice to the outrage against this President who does not deserve the Office…now more than ever!
