• Unpaid soy sauce throws couple in legal trouble

A business couple from Fairview, Quezon City has been sued by one of their suppliers over unpaid order of soy sauce, tables and chairs and even table cloth worth over P1 million last year.

Charged before the Office of the Prosecutor in Quezon City were couple Salvador “Buddy” and Josephine “Josie” Abesamis of VS and F Compound in East Fairview, for violation of Batas Pambansa (BP) 22.

Fe Morado also of Quezon City, accused them of estafa for non-payment of P1.6-million worth of goods including soy sauce.

Morado in her complaint said the transaction was done in August 2012 when she delivered 1,650 chairs, tablecloths and soy sauce to the Abesamis couple. By December of same year she demanded to their payment through a text message, which the couple agreed to pay by issuing 14 pieces of post-dated checks.

However, the checks issued by the Abesamis couple bounced prompting Morado to wrote them a demand letter—which the couple ignored.
