UNSC condemns terrorist attacks in Baghdad


UNITED NATIONS, United States: Members of the UN Security Council have condemned in the strongest terms the three terrorist attacks in Baghdad on May 11 where at least 93 people were killed. “They reiterated their commitment to Iraq’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national unity, as well as to its security,” the United Nations said in a statement Thursday (Friday in Manila). The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, ISIS, IS, Da’esh had claimed responsibility for the attacks. The Security Council members also stressed the need to bring the perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of the dastardly acts of terrorism to justice.
