University of the Philippines (UP) halted a five-game losing streak by beating Adamson University 89-84 on Saturday in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 78 men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
A week after losing their last game in the first round against the Falcons (68-73), the Fighting Maroons made a strong start and sustained the momentum until the end of the game to avenge their loss to the Falcons last week. UP, with the win, improved its win-loss record to 3-5.
