Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao is drawing inspiration from the upcoming birth of his fifth child to train harder for his rematch against undefeated American Timothy Bradley on April 12. Pacquiao (55-5-2 win-loss-draw card with 38 knockouts) is aiming to avenge his controversial split decision defeat to Bradley (31-0 win-loss card with 12 knockouts) in June 2012.
“That will be an exciting rematch plus the birth of his fifth child,” Gerry Peñalosa, Pacquiao’s business partner told The Manila Times in a phone interview. “So far, that bout is already sealed and we’re expecting a very inspired Manny Pacquiao to give Bradley some beating.”
Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee have four kids namely Jimuel, Michael, Princess and Queenie. Jinkee is expected to give birth to their fifth child sometime early April.
Peñalosa also praised Pacquiao’s idea to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a charity-boxing match.
“That’s a great idea because it means that Manny is not only concerned about the money but also for the entire world that wanted to see the mega dream fight to happen,” said Peñalosa. “But I’m not expecting Mayweather to bite the offer because he’s avoiding Manny ever since.”
Top Rank Promotion head Bob Arum earlier also commended Pacquiao’s idea.
